But anyway, what I wanted to say is that the commonality between the Bulava and the Topol-M is WAAAAY overplayed. It was a marketing ploy by the MIT to seel the Bulava design over the competing designs. In reality, the Bulava turned out to have very little in common with the Topol.

    Uh... Sorry for misused word.

Anyway, R-39 was kinda new concept at that time as other many solid-propellant missiles were not completed and no solid-propellant SLBM was in service when its development began. Therefore I can assume that its design was not much influenced by other missiles. However AFAIK Bulava is the third solid-propellant SLBM of Russia(after RS-16, R-39), and its design is somewhat based on - not much but at least in some degree, like basic components - an existing missile in service. Also Russia has much more experience in solid fuels compared to that time. And we can say that even Bulava doesn't have much things in common with Topol-M, still it has to perform better, not like this sh-t.

So it seems that what Russia must do is beat MITT guys hard and give 'em some more roubles to pull the Bulava out of a trash bin(Or shove it to the bottom of the bin, but would it be an available option for them?).

Then "Saka" should be more accurate in recognition : It's a BMP-1P not a BMD. My 6 years old daughter can make the difference.

I dont think that its the MITT that should take the blame for the past test failures, they are after all, just the designer, the real problem is with the missile's faulty, failure ****e components which are supplied by contractors that are in my opinion poorly supervised to guarantee quality control, unless of course if its the MITT who actually produce them.

Just some fantasy on paper but i know it wouldnt be practical. Indeed, SU-25's being swapped by Yak-130's would be best.
I understand regarding fantasy planes. One of my favs was a plastic model shown somewhere (don't know where) that was basically an Su-25 with the straight wing moved to the rear of the aircraft near the tail with two sets of canard foreplanes added (one set horizontal and one set vertical under the front but behind the cockpit). The two engines were not there and instead a large single engine fitted with a pusher turboprop with two sets of rotating blades.

    Impressive looking aircraft IMHO.

It seems that Bulava program won't be an utter failure. However without a major breakthrough(with more fund support and ground/float test), it may become a huge embarrasment to Russian strategic agenda.
It wont be a disaster if it does not enter service for 5 years. As long as when it does enter service that it is reliable then that is OK.

There is a thread about JASSMs failure rate being very very high and costs going up because of faulty materials like fuses and cables... wonder if this is a plot by the makers of cables and fuses etc to get more money spent on cheap things...

Modified Yak to replace Su-25? Why, might as well just make more Su-25s in that case, they will perform better.

I have a question regarding this photo

Is that a Humvee with Russian military numbers? If yes, could it be the one that was captured in Poti?

    Few pictures of IL gunship

The Su-25s on the Kuznetsov are a dodgy hack, they are CAS aircraft being used as trainers, not an ideal situation imo. Better to use an actual trainer in that role, and the Yak-130 is exactly that.

This is all assuming of course that the Yak-130 can be easily enough made suitable for aircraft carrier operations, if not, then there is no point since there is only 1 carrier in service at the moment and building new bespoke trainers for it is pointless.

The number plate indicates a Ukrainian vehicle.
