To me it looks like the officer who fell down near the camera got hit by rounds from the other officer who fired in at the woman, as she was turning her back to the officer who got wounded and he was in the direct line of fire.

And she blew up afterwards, probably she triggered her suicide vest and maybe it is programmed to explode after a few seconds, so she can't be stopped when she yells "Allahu Akbhar" anymore as it is already triggered...very "clever".

"Paper" newspaper has to it no relation. It was on the tape "novoteka" (http://www.novoteka.ru/r/Politics/ArmedForces/Army) referring to the website "Rossiyskaya Gazeta" (http://www.rg.ru/2010/04/13/severodvinsk-anons.html).

Not to mention that the fact they feel they need to buy abroad because of poor quality of their equipment, etc, is a poor excuse. Instead of buying from abroad....maybe invest the money for development of better materials? Does not sound too hard, and at least you are not giving up state secrets to potential rivals (why would you want a monkey model of anything?) Shouldn't the Russian's know this better then anyone else? Second, it forces their own technological and development facilities (as well as R&D) to leave, as no money would be coming in for state orders. If this is true, then Russia could destroy pretty much their only high tech development companies, as well as increase further brain drain.

It seems to me - military men in it any more do not trust...

This is a very off topic, but i could not find the right thread where this was discussed:

Why isn't there still any pic resize feature on the website? I love high res pictures, but without the resize thingy, fewever people post pics in full size. Also, the search still doesn't work. If you search for "Su-34" within the thread you get nothing.

Anyone know? I still fail to find the "new forum" thread.

I use Google advanced search feature. For example, go to Google.de, there write "site:militaryphotos.net Su-34", you will get much better results than by using forum's search engine. Why is it like that now, I have no idea, I miss the old forum's look also.

New air defense systems to take part in Moscow's VE-Day parade

MOSCOW, April 14 (RIA Novosti)
Russia's new short-range gun and missile air defense systems will take part in a Victory Day parade on Red Square in Moscow on May 9, a Defense Ministry spokesman said on Wednesday.
This year's parade in Moscow to mark the 65th anniversary of Soviet victory in WWII will involve more than 10,000 personnel, 160 military vehicles and 127 aircraft.
"Eight new Pantsir-S1 air defense systems, designed to provide point defense for civilian and military installations and to protect theater and strategic air defense complexes, such as S-300 and S-400, will participate for the first time in a military parade on the country's main square this year," Lt. Col. Vladimir Drik said.
The Pantsir system was unveiled at the MAKS air show near Moscow in 1995 and has been thoroughly modified since then. It is expected to replace the obsolete Tunguska air defense system in the Russian army.
The first 10 Pantsir-S1 (SA-22 Greyhound) air defense systems entered service with the Russian Air Force on March 18, 2010.
The system carries up to 12 guided surface-to-air missiles with an operational range of 20 kilometers (12 miles). It also has two dual 30-mm automatic cannons that can engage targets up to 4 km away.
The combination of missiles and cannons allows the system to effectively engage aerial targets at various ranges and altitudes.
