He was on the separatist side in the 1. Chechen War. Rebel or terrorist, depends on the point of view if that's what you mean.

If someone was using terrorist methods than they are a terrorist. If not - then just a rebel.

Well, do you know exactly what methods he/they used? Ethnic cleansing or killing of more than 100.000 people and he wasn't involved at all? Hard to believe.

I know what you're trying to say... I am not a big fan of Chechens in general actually. But there really was no choice... Better have them butcher themselves with their endless clan wars than send our young men and women to do the dirty work. They are skilled fighters - you can't deny them that. As long as you give them power, they will be loyal to you. Russia pretty much handed over power of the North Caucasus to several of these clan warlords. People like Umarov understand this cycle so they try to expand the violence OUTSIDE the North Caucasus.

    I absolutely agree.
But there's one thing that I refuse to accept - making those "former rebels" who shot Russians (and probably even worse, don't even want to think about that) "Heroes of the Russian Federation". That's a disgrace and I don't know why this seemed necessary to some people...

Them having surrendered Gudermes peacefully and having fought on the right side of justice saved a lot of Russian servicemen's lives, so in my book they deserved the medals.

Are you sure? It's very strange, because rehearsals are still being made in Alabino, the first rehearsal in Moscow will be on April 27

MoD and the manufacturing plant of Kurganmash is taking accent on BMP-3.
I say - "for the parade"...
If you are familiar with the matter - you understand why...

So you're saying the BMD 4 is for "pokazukha" and nothing more?
