    It's basically a flechette with a cartridge.

    Flechettes have been used extensively as projectiles in land-based warfare for more than a hundred years.

    It's very effective, but only underwater. On land the APS is highly inaccurate. To replace the APS they created ASM-DT -
    It can take flechette cartridges underwater and regular AK magazines on land.
