    But only in your head.

Since you're reevaluating your life I recommend applying as a military analyst with Novaya Gazeta or some other anti-Putin rag.....I'm sure you'll have a great career.

The fact is that IDA_71 haven't said anything insulting on that man, He had just his suspictions that's all. He has right to express his opinion to be right/wrong about certain topic, and there is no need to get angry Johnny. However, in my own opinion the said man is not a poser, he looks authentic being a bit excentric at the same time.

SpN GRU wear VDV uniforms, but a lot of the badges are non-regulation

I can tell you that the bat with a parachute is non-regulation, it's not something that one would get issues in a real unit. However, many military-themed shops sell that ****, so you can see many demobbed guys wear all sorts of non-regulation badges.

Also, for people who have said that the bat makes this guy out to be GRU, did you even know that the bat is NOT GRU's official symbol? GRU's symbol is a carnation. Like this:

That what I also wanted to bring to you.
A bat on the berret is seems to be a VDV Reconnaissance company as maximum. The second thing that I can not iterpretate is his sleeve patch. A skull with a maroon berret - I never heard of regiments that are using such identy ensign.
I would appreciate if someone will tell what regiment it is.

Chevron "unofficial". Skull - rather popular element in "informal" emblems: http://www.splav.ru/catalog.aspx?cat...48%3a11.900181
But the fact that the skull in the Crimson Beret... it's amazing...

This appears to be a Delta class submarine. It is RARE to see such pictures of Sub-props as it gives the opposing side help in building a signature library for accurate classification. For Opsec reasons you should think twice before putting these on the net as they can put you in trouble...

yeah sure but there's a bat on the floor and the wall of the new GRU HQ for a reason... and then who cares who that guy is... I don't... but he could be a just an alkie trying to look all cool... even if he did serve with the VDV or the interior VV

dude, don't you think if this photo is on the net, the "ellusive enemy" would have had it by now nevertheless, even if not posting the link? And besides intelligence had that info even before sub was actually built, if not, then what intelligence is that then?

There are many many pictures on the internet showing submarine propellers. I think the importance of their appearance is overblown in terms of OPSEC.
