Ah, the log. A tanker's best friend...

As for the dead bodies, someone should really reconsider the image of the Red Army as being evil personified. It's getting old.

Shut the hell up, Vympel you really could have left that remark to yourself.

Paya, who the hell are you? "Ah, the log. A tanker's best friend..."
you got reminded of wood? I do not see the soviet army as evil in any bloody way. Stop discussing this sh*t, if you can't provide facts.

    Hi Guys!

I'm quite new here, actually this is my first post...

There is a question, that interrest me long time ago:

What is that redbrown sling on the stock of many AK-s. It can be seen on many pictures. What is it for? What material? etc...

Sorry if it's been asked before, but this is a quite long topic...

Thanks in advance for your help!

    Aron

Maybe a "DIY" cheek rest, for protecting the face from the cold or hot metal of the stock?

    Prototype of BMPT.

Russian army will get first examples of BMPT this year. I would like to ask how much serial BMPT will differ from prototype. I read BMPT could place Igla missiles too. Did someone know if Igla missiles will be placed on Ataka missile installations or will they have their special installations? Will they be included in C3I network with information system? With good integration in this network BMPT could become very effective multirole fighting vehicle like multirole fighting jets.

I have some questions about the BMPT:

    - Which are the jobs of the 5 crew members?
    - Where is located the 7,62mm machine gun?
    - What are the two things in the red circles?
    - Which armour has BMPT?

    1) Driver 2) right hull gunner 3) left hull gunner 4) commander 5) turret gunner.
The 7,62mm MG is located above and to the left of the left hand 30mm 2A42 cannon (look carefully at the photo)
The things in the circles are the remotely controlled AGS-30 automatic grenade launchers, operated by the hull gunners.
Armor specifics are classified, but consists of steel/ceramic laminate, slat armor and advanced ERA .

Oh, that's brilliant. Well informed, not susceptible to false information, AND funny.

    Thank you very much.

    - Well, the two hull gunners control only the grenade launchers?
    - How many MG are located on the BMPT? Who control those MGs?
    - The two AGS-30 grenade launchers have only a short angle attack? (red area in the image)
