Nice to see Russian ships of the next generation! Russia actualy has very little new weapons systems in use that were designed after the Soviet brakeup (or shortly before).

    Nice pics.
Is there any new generation Cruisers or destroyers forthcoming in Russian Navy service/under concept or study phase. If yes, can someone please provide some pics.

Only clear things was said by Navy Chief about submarines in 25 july speech.
About new ships he said too much promising words, but not named exact numbers and classes as he did about submarines.

"The construction of new-generation nuclear-powered ballistic missile and attack submarines is a top priority for the Russian Navy's development, the Navy commander said on Friday.

According to a new doctrine for the development of the armed forces, Russia will completely modernize the naval component of its nuclear triad by 2016...

"At present, we are providing sufficient financing for the creation of a fleet of a new-generation nuclear-powered strategic submarines," Adm. Vladimir Vysotsky said."

more about new subs with classes and numbers named :

    also:
" "The Navy continues the construction of new strategic missile cruisers, multi-purpose submarines, frigates, corvettes, amphibious ships, trawlers, warfare vessels and service boats," Vysotsky was quoted by the Itar-Tass news agency as saying in an interview on the eve of Russia's Navy Day.

"The fleet will have more powerful ships in the future: state-of-the-art multi-purpose mine-carriers and aircraft carriers. The relevant works have already begun," he said.

Vysotsky said earlier that it is necessary for the Russian Navyto have five to six aircraft carriers in its Pacific and Northern fleets.

The Turks never gonna use the Kord, mate they are terrified of anything that have a KURD or KORD name on it, i know it sounds silly, but trust me mate they do think like that..
The Russians call it Kord... the Turks can call it anything they like...

Nice to see Russian ships of the next generation! Russia actualy has very little new weapons systems in use that were designed after the Soviet brakeup (or shortly before).
Most of the systems they used at the end of the cold war were already pretty good. The main changes so far have been new lightweight guns with stealthy exteriors and the change from arm launchers for the SA-N-7 SAM to vertical launch on some vessels.

For the moment their focus is on Subs as this is part of the nuclear triad that they really need to maintain. Smaller coastal patrol and border patrol vessels is the other priority for the country so development of new weapons is really not a huge priority right now.

Their plans for carriers however will make larger support vessels necessary but they are not really essential right now. This means that work can be done in the mean time to improve sensors and weapons so that when the new vessels are ready for production the new sensors and weapons will also be ready to deploy.
