Why not? A high velocity, flat trajectory gun is useful for providing pinpoint fire support, or even area coverage firing en masse over open sights.

It also appears to lack the thermal sleeve for the main gun and the coaxial laser range finder. And it also seems to have the early loader's hatch, the one without the AA HMG mount.
It seems to be part of the train. It is coloured with the same camo as the car behind it, and it isn't on a normal flatbed car but sort of semi-permanen platform.

Looks like a fire support train car.

Could be, as the car to the rear of the T-62 has sort of an armored look to it.

The cheap way to utilize the old stocks, especially ammunition with expired guarantee period.

I've said it once and I'll say it again.. assholes... drop the politics and all other bullshit!! These are some awesome pics and something you won't see on most sites. Drop the bs and appreciate this thread for what it's meant!

Thanks for the pics, RomanS!!! Have a lot of respect for the Russian military! I could see a lot happening if Russian and US forces could work as one cohesive unit.

If the U.S., Russia, and China all worked together then that would be one awsome "cohesive unit" especially in the war on terrorism.
