    *troll feedin' ON*
tough looking equipment doesn't make a person a good soldier
nor kirzachi or non-ergonomic AR design makes a person a petty soldier
    *troll feedin' OFF*

I watched the "Udarnaya Sila". They said, that all clothes and equipment in USSR was bad. Even special forces used bad equipment.

That's the answer to all claims.

Did you ever serve? As an ex-member of one of the better trained NATO forces I am not seeing anything out of the ordinary except maybe civilian clothing items. Mortar drill is there, discipline is there, and nobody is panicking or yelling "Allah akbar" while shooting RPGs in the air (since you are comparing 18 year old heroes to ****ing pirates). Considering they were completely ad-hoc units mixed from police, interior forces, regular army and FSB without rehersed unit cohesion, they performed admirably. Grozny assault in '96 was a very, very messy political betrayal, when troops had to watch the terrorists enter the city through their blockposts and couldn't ever search their cars because of order from Moscow. Some time later same blockposts were being completely cut off without any hope for reinforcements. So as people before me said - show some respect.

Why not? They are not interested in superfluous criticism of Soviet Army, because it is First Channel.

OK. I don’t want to discuss Soviet Army more. I want to know, if somebody have photos of Russian soldiers using PKP “Pecheneg” machine gun in battle. I saw one in South Ossetia (on photo, of course).
