Today marks 27th anniversary of the martial law in Poland. On 13th of December, 1981 Polish general Wojciech Jaruzelski declared martial law in the name of the Military Council of National Salvation. Thousands of people were arrested without charge and as many as 100 were killed.

One of the most famous pictures of the martial law in 1981 - "Moscow" cinema in Warsaw (doesn't exist today), playing "Apocalypse Now".

It seems that in all incidents the flames were extinguished quickly and there was no serious injury.
