^^^ I was unaware that we had LAV's without the 25mm Gun. Meaning that these two are strykers. Although the two air centries appear to have elcan sites and Canadian shaped Helmets. Any thoughts?

So just because you didn't know about the LAV 3.5 means it doesn't exist? Thats some pretty deep, existential sh it right there, man.

Those vehicles are indeed Canadian as are their crews, they were converted to that standard from what were supposed to be the MMEV hulls. Since that project was put on hold, GD refurbed those hulls to LAV-H standard without the 25mm turret.

Olaf isn't a distinctive German name, rather Scandinavian. And Schmid is more common with either 'dt' or 'tt' in Germany.

Perhaps in Northern Germany.

Olaf may originally be a Scandinan-Germanic name, but many have been adopted in modern Germany.
Several of my cousins have Scandinavian names. I think it's become a bit of a fad in the last two decades over there ..

Here's a well known one; Head of the GSG9, Olaf Lindner.

Terrorists paradise. After moving out from behind the wall on the right there is no cover cause of the big windows all alond the front of the rooms. From some of the vids that i have seen they first fire a few rounds followed by a grenade in to the room and then move in.

The few rounds first? Is that to make sure the targets are prone and less likely to be taken out by the grenade? Or is it to let the targets know there's a grenade coming and they better duck? Sheesh - this type of work is stressful enough, without tactics sure to put you in a bag.

I dont know the details but they fire in through the windows closely followed by a grenade. This is done so that the soldier throwing the grenade is not killed.

As for the prone thing these guys are not taking the Taliban by surprise but in the middle of house to house engagements. So im pretty sure that the Taliban are ready for the grenades.
