I decided to start this thread to share a little bit about my former unit in the IDF (2004-2007), enjoy it and feel free to contribute to the life of this thread. All veterans form Gdud 601, Tzamah Ayosh or any other engineering fight units are especially welcome.
So to start here a few pictures from the corp! Gdud 601 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Tell us stories of IDF CE superiority over other branches DID. 'Tis always good to hear.

Or even join the construction teams that use a lot of Caterpillar engine, like D9 for exemple, and build bases or the famous "Fence" (I was First in Bat. 601 then making a NCO course and going to a D9 operators unit.) For giving you an idea of how important and polyvalent is the engineering corp, in order of size (number of soldiers) you have Infantry then Tank and Engineering almost equal, after the others like artillery... |

It's some song, we go through all the different beret colors that each signify a unit and say something about it, in the example above it's about the engineering corps:
"Who has a mouse-gray beret? Who has a mouse-gray beret? Who has a mouse-gray beret...The stupid engineer" In Hebrew naturally it's nicer. That's the way it goes through all the colors until it gets to the AA and then we say, "What about the AA fighter? What about the AA fighter? What about the AA fighter...AA fighter isn't a fighter." And it ends with: "Who has the blackest black beret? Who has the blackest black beret? Who has the blackest black beret...the tanker with the pipe (as in large weapon/penis)." |
