Yellow journalism - my favourite aversion.
I was taught about WW2 when I was around 13, surprised any 9yr olds know who Hitler is and what WW2 was.

We got a very brief introduction when we were in P3 so around age 7/8 but the 5W was never covered until ages 11/12 my fiancee who is a good bit younger than me never really covered WW1-2 until about 11/12

At the small school where I work class p5-7 had WWII as their main "theme" for the last session. They were not so much tought all about the war(as it obviously would take a vey long time) just mainly the key players/countries and events etc.

I think the main focus was what effect the war had on our own population, especially the children.

To be honest I don't know,as far as I have seen there is no set age for something like WWII,I don't even know if WWII is even regularly tought about.
All can say is that I have only seen WWII tought in any sort of depth to p5-7's so say ages 8-12.

I'm not a teacher or anything like that but i think but going on what I see happening in my school it is down in many ways to the individual teachers and kids (depending on the school) as to which specific historical "era/events" they want to learn about.
