Default Help for C7A2!

Hi!

I am trying to make a C7A2 Airsoft gun,
I have started with a G&G Electric Blowback gearbox (Don't ask me what version) from the M4A1 Plastica Rifle, The origional reciever was in disrepair and had scratches and cracks and a fix that the previous owner had made which made opening up the reciever a real bitch! I followed Youtube videos to dismantle the gun and it is in pieces on a large cloth in my "Workshop" Aka. Garage.

My main problem is that the plastic trigger snapped off and I have to replace it (Prefferably with a metal one to avoid it happening again!) but I can't seem to get the gearbox open because of the blowback system installed on the top, something that some people don't have the problem of! Should I replace the gearbox with a new one (Preferably with blowback for more realistic action, people would tell me, dont buy something that you had problems with the first time!) Any suggestions?

I am getting a Canadian C8 (Yeah, I know that is isn't accurate but still, it will look good!) reciever made by guarder, with the maple leaf on it and "Canadian forces" engraved on it.

I still have the stock buffer tube from my old M4 which included the "LE" stock, I am going to buy the small older style one. Is this a problem? I am buying my stuff from Evike.com, the only place where I know I can get all of the stuff together! As most C7 fans know, the Canadian service rifles are issued in black with green furniture, I am buying:

A complete KWA M16 front end and Classic Army OD handguards

Classic Army OD M4 pistol grip designed for motor

A Classic army Small style buttstock in OD

I know that the Mag release and Safety selector is in green but it is too small to be noticed!

Is there anything I am missing and would anyone see any problems with this going ahead?

I hope it goes smoothly and in the future, I hope to buy a Tri-Ad and an Elcan optic!

If you have any suggestions please don't hesitate to share them with me!

Thanks,
/Josh

Looks good so far josh, i think you are on the right tracks there mate. So few diemacos on the skirmish field. So they are nice too see. I recently completed a C8 A1, i use this with my danish and canadian kit. Keep us posted on how it go's.

The safety selector and the mag release are both ambidextrous on the C7A2, and are normal parkerized gunmetal, not green in any way.
Also, don't bother getting a Triad mount, if you put anything on it at all, it throws the balance of the rifle way off. Get a full on quad rail.
Hope this helps.

Get the annoying ambidextrous charging-handle latches that break all the time like on our real C7A2s. Also the sling-loop on that receiver's backplate.

God I hate both of them so bad.

Keep in mind the C79A2 (Elcan) is now green as well, might want to take it into consideration if you want to be accurate.

Or maybe just get an EoTech and avoid the Elcan altogether.

Lol that actually funny from a non-grunt unit member. Elcan is the only really usable scope we have in tour my friend.

Really, my EOTECH lived through all 7 months of my second tour, no problems.

main use of a scope in A-stan is to look into calverts from a safe distance you should know that since your name is Trunk Monkey. Secondo you never get engage from closer than 300-400m. If you get engage small arm !!!

I generally left the IED searching to EOD and the Engineers. We never stopped close enough to culverts to warrant me dismounting, and looking into them. We had RCP for that.
3 to 400m, eh? I guess the Talibs that ambushed us just outside of Zangabad from 75m and closer didn`t get that memo...

Ihave no idea what your job was down there but we havent had the chance to have a eod team along all the time. Even if so, we were doing all the VPS with them. Has far as we are concern small arm attack and rpg attack were not close enough to get a clear shot with a eotech scope. Anyway 25mm is a way better weapon in those situation.

Maintainers are issued C8A3s with Eotechs overseas and I'm happy for them. Hopefully that's what I'll be issued if I end up on the 3-10. The Elcan's mount could use a LOT of work. We don't need one and if I had the choice, the Elcan wouldn't be it.
