Manoeuvres were carried out between units with tanks supported by artillery, missiles and troop transport helicopters. T-55 tanks are still in full operational capacity, will soon be replaced by T-72 to acquire the Peruvian army.

Wow Peru just amazes me. I've been noticing the different threads pop up recently and I'm amazed at the mix of Western and Soviet/Russian equipment that they have.

Do not be fooled by appearances T-55 is much soil with sand and dust of the desert, that what you should know very well because their M1A1 tank as the USA also suffered bad weather in the desert war in Iraq.
They send a photo of the t-55 based on different units in Peru, these tanks were repotenciados by a Peruvian company and they call T-55 LEON but anyway will be withdrawn when they reach the T-72 ![]() T-55M1 LEON PERUVIAN ARMY ![]()
