WTF on the last one. Is the army actually considering that?
Looks like a uniform belonging to a Former Soviet Republic. |

The recent class a uniform and these new ones both suck in my opinion. My favorite is the all tan ones from the WWII era like Eisenhower is wearing in that picture.

I'm torn between the WWI "Pershing" design, the immediate pre-WWII brown/tan uniform (with Sam Browne) and the postwar Khakis/Tans.
Everything began to suck when we started on the Greens. Were I CoS, I'd short-circuit the whole deal by xerox'ing the USMC A's into Army colors (Black & Gold, or Olive Green). I prefer that one because it's closest to the WWI pattern, and it's in-production. |

Jesus H. Christ. Those look like USAF security forces. Why can't they just maintain their original appearance, and retain some of their traditions!?

The beret is ridiculous for those other than special forces.

The WWI pattern looked great. WWII pattern I think was made to be inexpensive and, for the most part, it showed (although certain people, like Patton, sure knew how to look spiffy).
The new uniforms look like dog**** but it doesn't change the fact that the men and women who will be wearing it have all of our respect. |

I think the Army Dress Blues are some very sharp uniforms...but this new ASU aint to sharp imo...i just dont get why they couldnt just bring back the khaki shirt to replace the mint green one and change the jacket just a little...like a different cut and a different shade of green...and then...leave the dress blues alone....the dress blues in the ARMY were special...when i thought of Army Dress Blues i thought of the tomb guards..

I don't have a problem with the blues but if we're going to copy the Marines lets not be so subtle about it. No white shirt go with a tan one.

Every time someone seriously proposes a return to our WWII or prior uniform types (as opposed to the exact patterns), the refrains are: "Why do we have to copy the Marines?" "Too uncomfortable!" "Too expensive!" "Black/Brown/Blue/Green isn't the Army colors, Black/Brown/Blue/Green is!" "Too old-fashioned!" "Not modern enough!" "We won't be able to blouse our boots!" (which is gay*, anyway) "Too much like the Navy!" (????) "It's not suited for females!" Etc, etc, etcmother********etc. Gen Schoomaker at least tried to buy us some coolness by using a well-tailord grey shirt, instead of the gay white shirt. Some genius decided it "didn't show off the uniform well enough"..... *-I'm a paratrooper. I can make that statement. It's gay. Alway's has been. |
