Default Qestion regarding ballistic glasses

We have been fighting back and forth about this. Are BCGs ballistic? I am not sure so Im saying no but he wants to play airsoft in them. Can someone let me know? I also dont think they are safe since theres no side protection.

I don't know why you would voluntarily want to wear those when in the states, but no they are not ballistic. They may be thick as coke bottles, but like you pointed out, there is no side protection. I got my rear chewed by my plt sgt for trying to wear them on a foot patrol as a joke. He didn't take kindly to my humor.

They are not ballistic, neither are M40 and M42 gas masks...

No, I always thought they were until I asked my Army optometrist. They're tough enough to withstand rough and tumble activities like PT, but they don't offer ballistic protection.

Why don't you use the proper nomenclature?

Sorry chief didnt know I had to be pushing out propper names and stuff for airsofters. The MCU-2/P has a soft visor and comes with a tinted hard plastic visor we have the M-50 now. I wanted to know if the hard visor that comes with the MCU-2/P is ballistic or just hard plastic.

For the most part, ballistic rated items have the rating printed/molded on the lens itself...Besides that, try checking the TM of said item if there is one?

I wouldn't trust what a foreigner has said but whatever. I may take the 2P shield I have later and shoot at it and see what happens.

You don't have to hoss, but if you want more responses let people know what mask you are exactly talking about. I know what it comes with, I have one and I have seen them been used in airsoft games before.

I just wondered if it would do anything more then protect the soft rubber visor. Or if it was ballistic or not. I know one of my old ones was scratched all to hell.
