What Distinctive Unit Insignia is this?

Hello I'm looking for this unit insignia. Its from the movie, "From Here to Eternity." Everyone is wearing it on their campaign hats. Its not the Hawaiian Dept or the 25th Infantry Regiment.

Are you sure it's even a real DUI? I searched for DUIs of the units in the 24th Infantry Division - since you say it's not from the Hawaiian Department or 25th ID - and have gotten no hits.

Well I was pretty sure it wasn't 25th ID or Hawaiian Dept. because I know what those DUI's look like. I don't know if it was just made for the movie. Thanks for looking.

Yeah. No worries, man. Though, it would make sense that they made up their own DUI for the movie, since the Army initially withheld its support for the film until the script was edited. That might've been a minor concession to get formal Army approval?

Yeah I read about that too. But then again they were wearing Hawaiian Dept. patches on their left shoulders. The hat insignia does look kind of non descript like a shield with a pineapple in the middle, Ha.
