On the show future weapons there was a story on the new model of 50 Calibre machine gun that could have its barrel removed and replaced with a 40mm chain gun barrel.
It was being tested by the US Army on the show and I was just wondering if they were still interested in using the gun or has it gone the the way of the XM8 project It would be good if there was someone who could tell us what is happening with this project and were it is at the moment. |

There was something while back about a new 50. machine gun slash 40mm grenade launcher, i think in the army times, google that lol.

The XM307/312 project seems to be hold or... dead.

Well, the XM307/312 program has spun off a couple of interesting prototypes.. an ATK bushmaster chaingun for the 25x59mm ammunition

Looking at all these different projects, I got this feeling the M2 isn't going anywhere soon.
