Saw it a few days ago, thought it was really informative. My heart goes out to those affected by PTSD.

Are you kidding me? I've had PTSD briefings rammed down my fvcking throat since my first tour in 2006. There are at least three, completely free, completely confidential resources available to those who have or may have an Operational Stress Injury. FFS the new Sacrifice Medal can be awarded for PTSD.
To be quite honest, the level of support in the CF is almost choking at times. Many people feel like they're normal for NOT having PTSD. At the end of the day, the warrior spirit counts for a lot, some people can exist downrange for month at a time, then come home and be as normal as possible. Others fall apart. Its life. The civilian populace, the CF, and a lot of CF soldiers need to get over themselves and realize that fact.

I heard the same thing from a local reservist who was having some problems. He said during their time in cyprus following the tour, it was almost information overload on ptsd. After being home for a while he realised something wasn't right, spoke up, and bang, just like that he had appointments lined up with specalists and vet affairs. And this is in a province with no reg force army presence (except for the ASU). I imagine there must be even more support for reg force members.

Things have changed a great deal since the early 90s.

Canada and Australia are 2 of the leading countries WRT PTSD info and support. The reason the ram the questionnaires/surveys, is to identify possible issues BEFORE they become problems... Most Injuries can be cured/fixed...PTSD is in the same bout... With smaller armies, losses take a greater toll on manning (obviously) hence the need for retention of it's members...The CF is only trying to protect it's interest...it's commodities..etc... makes sense...
