Default ACU, wich RAL color space system or color code?

Well, google used and key search used. No answer to my question:

- Wich RAL* color code is used for the US Army ACU camouflage? We need to paint some bigger stuff with the real colors. Somebody can help out?

*RAL is a color matching system used in Europe. In colloquial speech RAL refers to the RAL CLASSIC system, mainly used for varnish and powder coating. In 1927 the German Reichsausschuß für Lieferbedingungen und Gütesicherung" (State Commission for Delivery Terms and Quality Assurance) invented a collection of 40 colors under the name of "RAL 840".

Hi AirCommando

Forget about getting that kind of tech info from anyone here.

I suggest you just get a piece of the ACU cloth, a colour evaluation booth/cabinet and a colour swatch book in your preferred colour space, then do a manual match. All of the items are pretty easy to find, the colour swatch book in your prefered colour space may be an issue, but maybe some other space will do?
Especially if there's a conversion chart. ;-D

Enjoy

Thanks for the info.

We allready did this. The problem is that this colors have to be mixed and a RAL code tells you exactly how to mix the colors together because later you can´t step back. Ones something is painted, the color will change a little bit from the original boilerplate and to evoid a bad surprise, we want to use the original RAL color code.

So, if anyone knows it, it will be superb. Thank you very much in advance.

The chances of the US ACU camo having European RAL specs seem a little remote.

Forget it. That's impossible with RAL 840 HR. There are far too few colors...

Ok, is there any "MilSpec" color code for ACU? Please don´t say just "grey" or stuff like that. Thank you very much.

I don't know if this is useful or not, but I have seen ACU's come in three color tones - some are Greenish, some are Blueish, and some are very Grayish. You may want to keep that in mind.
