God knows, what it is, but sure a lot of panic, circus, quite a number of sudden deaths and all sorts of different information by politicians and medical professionals in the media. People invaded Hungarian pharmacies for vaccines and protective clothing, so Hungary and Slovakia are sending some stuff over. I read somewhere that Slovakia closed the border crossings, don't know, if that's correct.

The Hungarian center for pandemics did not release any new information yet.

I've always thought the Hysteria was quite sudden. I'm pretty sure that something is happening but the politicians are trying to exploit the situation to their advantage particularly those politicians with no chance of wining.

Yes it is, not just Slovakia though, also Russia, Poland, Belarus, Czech are either closing bother or increasing monitoring.

That is the trouble with politics and the public perception of potential disaster.

Politicians will always try to capitalize on any mass state problem...instantly accusing the present power structure of failure to protect the public, hoping for a mass hysteria that will cause some sort of power vacuum. It is a quick way to grab the reins of power...and it has been going on since the days of the Roman Republic.

Present H1N1 jitters have been getting political attention as the present power elitists recognize it as a potential way to consolidate power under a "Global" umbrella...that movement has been going on for some time. God help us all if some real disastrous and easily communicable "perfect" disease comes along.

Just like the I.O. Tsunami and the New Orleans Katrina disasters, government will really be of very little help. Government structures just do not work in the face of really huge disasters. You are better to become as self sufficient as possible. Never, ever rely on government alone to protect you. You will be deathly disappointed.

^^Exactly the problem, it is very likely could be clever sh%t stirring of the sort that we cannot ignore though, just in case it is not. That would cost a lot more possibly.

Yes, we do know, what's in Romania - which I'm told being a bit of a nasty case of H1N1. The Ukraine is however, a lot of a mess. Some chief of pandemics there said: 71 deaths, 3 were identified with H1N1. He could lie that, but why would others too? Then you just gotta make certain for yourself...

A lotta troubles with this country.

What if someone, let's just call that someone "current administration", wants January elections postponed? A blown out of proportion epidemic would make an excellent excuse...

Heh?

You really would deserve the title of The PC Ghost With Vengeance.

I really cannot see, what other point there is to your post on the topic.

Yes, we have a state alert and quarantine. For example i can't receive new shipment from Kyiv, since transportation is forbidden temporarily. Schools and kindergartens are closed, 1 week to 3. Wasn't allowed to enter municipall hall yesterday, we were joking that are dear dupatats are affraid that someone with the flu would bit them. Price for garlic, onions rose 1,5-2 times. Lemons dissapeared also. People are wearing masks. Public places, stores, even hairdressing shops are monitored so the personnell is wearing masks and perfoms a wet cleaning regularily.

Regarding politicians, indeed Timoshenko already exploited the situation to promote herself. Real PR on the bones.

There is a book called the "Moscow vector" that talks about dna virus spread by the Russians into Ukraine as a first step prior to an invasion.

Just my 5c worth ...

why is this virus limited to Western Ukraine?
