![]() http://www.mil.se/sv/Nyheter/central...-general-i-EU/ Nice to see that the EU nations have confidence in us even though we're a rather small nation. On a sidenote Sweden now has three active four-star generals, can't recall when was the last time that happened. |

Small? Pfffft... look at mine.
Anyways, 'Grats! And is it that rare for Sweden to have three active four-star generals? |

Seems like the smaller this army gets, the more generals.
During the era of mass concription they were rather restrictive appointing generals. A commander of a fördelning (25 000 to 35 000 troops) were normally appointed with an elevated Colonel rank called Colonel by first degree. |

I guess they have nothing better to do than to promote people
I hope he does a good job ... though I don't even have the slightest idea what his job description will be. |

I googled the name at it said Håkan/Haakon/Hakon/Hakun means den högättade, which translates into something like "the man of high ancestry". I think Haakon is a traditional king's name in Norway too. So who knows maybe it shares some ancient proto-indoeuropean relation with Khan etc.

Congrats to Sweden! Here's hoping that they do as good of a job in charge of the EUMC as they have done so far in their Presidency of the EU!
![]() Don't be so modest goat. You guys have Andorra, Monaco, and San Marino beat! ![]() Besides, it's not the size of the fighter, but the but the size of the fight within the fighter that counts. In that regard, Singapore does pretty well for itself. ![]() Quote:
![]() Hopefully we will one day. If we do, I would vote for EUDF as it's name!

It wouldn't work as well as they hope I think. A unified army would never happen unless Europe became one big nation.

Well, the EU is basically the first step in the huge nation of Europe, the next step is converting the different nations into more of provinces or states like in the US and after creating a unified army and than making one global federal government, altough I doubt it will have the power that a regular government has, I think it will be the UN only with more power and autorithy.
