Yeah, the SEALs had a limited number of HK33s. Photos of them, with them, are rare. I think this is the only one i've seen, besides a short video clip.

They were not HK 33, they were a clone made by Harrington & Richardson called the T223.
Notice the use of Levis 501 blue jeans by several SEALs for operations in wetlands....they were more silent than baggy fatigues. |

What's your opinion of that? I think he just wore the jeans in barracks and put on the ammo and the gun just for a pic. Because jeans also limit your agility. |

Hey, I am not inventing this thing on Levis jeans you know...
Seriously, it's explained in several books I read about SEALs in VN how some operators prefered to use denims instead of fatigues during amphibious Op. The colour was often not a problem because the wetness made the denims much darker and a lot of Op were carried out a night anyway. From : SEALs UDT/SEAL Operations in VN by T.L Bosiljevac ISBN 08041-0722-X, Ivy Books "Note the variety of weaponry, equipments and uniforms (including blue jeans). Such dress was common among SEAL and UDT units." There is also a pic of Navy Cross holder SEAL Barry Enoch wearing Levis in Vn in the book: "Teammates: SEALs at war" |
