That dual feed HMG looks similar to the one Singapore made, do we get the license or is that one of the inspired by stuff.

yes, it's me... a kopassus wannabe..hahaha...

there is a lot of differece between SS-1 and SS-2. the SS-2 are more comfortable. the trigger and the recoil are softer... and it is more accurate...

btw, here's the spec of Pindad SMB and SPG...

... AFAIK, there are no deal between pindad and singapore. so i guess Pindad only 'inspired' by singapore guns...

Title
CIS 40-AGL TO BE BUILT IN INDONESIA
Section

Appearing in
JANE'S DEFENCE WEEKLY
Publication date
May 28, 1994

Indonesia's PT Pindad has entered into an agreement with Chartered Firearms Industries of Singapore (CIS) to license-produce the CIS40-AGL 40 mm automatic grenade launcher. The company will make some slight modifications to suit Indonesian mountings. The 40-AGL is an air-cooled, direct blowback operated weapon which fires US and CIS 40 mm high velocity rounds to an effective range of1500 m. Modular in construction, it comprises four main assemblies:bolt and backplate; trigger and sight; feed cover; and receiver. Itcan be mounted on a tripod, pedestal or turret/cupola.The 40-AGL is in production for the Singapore armed forces for mounting on M113 APCs. To meet a local requirement CIS has developed a special training round, the TP S416A, which more closely follows the trajectory of HE and HEDP operational rounds than theUS-developed TP M385. All 40 mm grenade rounds produced in Singapore now have a one-piece base to the cartridge case to eliminate potential feed problems inherent in other similar case designs.

Indonesia will send a war ship to Southern Lebanon to help build stability in the region, a top Navy official said on Tuesday.

Fulfilling a request from the UN, the Indonesian Navy will send KRI Diponegoro to Lebanon, RI Navy deputy chief of staff Rear Admiral Moekhlas Sidiq told Antara news agency on Tuesday.

"This is an honor on the international stage. In terms of land deployments (Army) the Indonesian military has been helping (the UN) for decades. March 2009 will be the first time we have been entrusted to send a war ship. This is why we are sending the newest one we own," Sidiq said.

The UN is scheduled to inspect the ship prior to its departure, Sidiq said.

"What is for certain is that this is a peacekeeping mission -- not a war. We are working very hard to get prepared," he said.
Five countries have been asked to serve in the tumultuous region for a six-month operation.

Previously, the Indonesian military has deployed 1,136 personnel to Lebanon under the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), to help restore peace and security in the region.

... go guys... make us proud
Why Lebanon ? Why not the pirate-heaven Somalian water ?
Lebanon water is potentially more dangerous. All troublesome countries in the area (you name it, including Hezbollah) have active anti-ship missiles. For PR, Somalian water is more strategically interesting & less risky. It's more useful to the free world trade lines, including Indonesia themselves. Sooner or later, there will be Indonesian sailors get captured as hostages by the Somalian pirates.

Different types of ammo, normal and armour piercing?

It does look closely similar to CIS 50MG

Thanks. Never seen this interesting concept before. Now you can use it for both anti-personnel & anti-material.

Pindad's SMB-QCB (Closed Quarter Combat ?) is indeed a licensed version of CIS 50MG.
The Wikipedia says Kostrad's Tontaipur is the 2nd operator of this MG. Anybody can verify that ?

Just Make A Little Correction

Pindad SMB-QCB = Senapan Mesin Berat/ Heavy Machine Gun - Quick Change Barrel

I heard from Officer in PINDAD Turen Malang who tested Ammo Produce By The Factory. That PINDAD Make Some Development and Innovation To M2HB With QCB I Have Some Picture of It (I'll Post It Latter)

SMB-QCB

SMB

Looks The Handle in The Red Circle
The Handle Make Change The Barrel more quicker even if barrel is hot after continous firing ( i'm sorry if my english so worst)

From the Guy in The PINDAD says 'They Learn and develop QCB from FN-Belgia' same like in Minimi.
I don't know if PINDAD have license for this technology any info guys???
